Noblet, by Leblanc, Bass Clarinet
This is a fine condition Noblet, Paris, Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, to low Eb, which has just been taken in part exchange by Clarinets Direct. This is a early example with matching serial numbers 4200, which dates to the 1960's, and this model features articulated trill keys like a Selmer Bass. The Nickel Silver plated key work shows the usual some "spot" wear to the ring finger touch pieces. The wood does show surface marks and scratches, and there are 2 tight surface cracks to the upper joint in the area of the speaker tube, see photo 3, neither go through to the bore and they have not been filled. The crook is in excellent condition, but the bell shows some minor dings and scratches. The Bass has just had new white leather pads fitted to the lower joint, and the upper joint has a mixture of older fish skin and new pads. There is no joint wobble. There is a floor peg attachment to the bell and floor spike. The supplied case is a Reed & Squeak in" as new" condition, NB pictured in the first and last photos. There are 2 supplied m'pieces, an S in excellent condition and an original Noblet m'piece in good condition.
