Leblanc, Paris, Esprit Bass Clarinet
This is an extremely fine Leblanc Esprit Bass Clarinet, of modern design and manufacture, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This instrument has had only one careful adult owner. The Esprit Bass was introduced in 2000, and sits above the Noblet Bass in the Leblanc line up. It competes directly with the Buffet Bass to low Eb, BC1180, which like the Leblanc has only a single overblowing vent. The Buffet currently retails new for over £5000. There are no cracks or damage to the wood, which is excellent throughout. The bell and crook are free from damage, with very good silver plating. The silver plated key work is also in excellent condition, with no plating loss. This Bass responds excellently, almost as well as a Selmer with double over blowing vent. The Bass has fine condition tan leather pads throughout. There is a floor peg, the matching serial nos. are 16852, dating to the mid 2000s. The case is in good used condition & the m'piece is a used Vito II, some reeds are also supplied.
