Buffet, R13 Prestige Bass Clarinet
A pristine condition Buffet R13 Prestige Bass clarinet to low C. Clarinets Direct is proud to count many of the leading players worldwide in our clientele. One such person is the renowned mouthpiece craftsman and professional player, Ramón Wodkowski. This clarinet has been in professional hands its entire life, as it was originally owned by a member of the Houston Symphony Orchestra. Ramón used this instrument for several years in the London music scene, in ensembles ranging from the BBC Symphony orchestra (Proms and Barbican concerts) to West End shows. Ramón has now relocated to the USA and has decided to part with this very fine clarinet. This instrument was optimised by Lohff & Pfeiffer with a full "studio" set up, see the link below

This comprehensive & expensive overhaul included the replacement of the centre tenon, with a custom metal tenon for improved connection between the main joints.
The L&P pads are in perfect condition, as is the silver plated key work which is superb throughout. The wood is also excellent throughout with NO damage, scuffs or repairs of any sort. Low C# and C are played using the rear RH thumb keys. Low D is fingered with both left and right "pinky" keys. The instrument has been down to our workshop for a complete strip down and regulation, and the Bass plays better than when it left the Buffet Crampon factory, with incredibly positive action and excellent intonation. The matching serial numbers are 37086. The supplied m'piece is a Selmer B* in good used condition, a new metal cap & ligature are also supplied, NB, not pictured. The original case does show signs of use, with a couple of minor stains to the interior and exterior scuffs, but it latches very well, and protects the Bass securely.
