Matched Pair of Leblanc LL Clarinets
These are a very fine condition matched pair of enhanced Boehm 7 ring Leblanc LL clarinets, which are a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The 7 ring mechanism allows for a fork Eb/Bb in the LH, a most useful addition to the standard Boehm. The Leblanc LL, was named after Leon Leblanc, George's son. The design features an exceptionally even scale and intonation, and though introduced in the 1960s, was so successful that the model continued in manufacture right up until when the firm was sold to Buffet in 2009.
The Bb clarinet has matching serial nos. 18129, The Nickel Silver plate is in good condition, with only slight wear, mainly to the tenon rings. The wood is also in very good condition, with no cracks or repairs. The instrument has used tan leather pads throughout, all are sealing well. The A has matching serial nos. 18140, again the Nickel Silver plate shows only slight wear. The wood is also very fine, with no cracks or repairs. Like the Bb the instrument has Pisoni Tan leather pads, which are only lightly used. The pair comes with 2 barrels & the supplied m'piece is a Vandoren B45 in good used condition. The sturdy double case comes with a good dust cover, one latch has been replaced and the case is in very good condition.
