Leblanc, Paris, Enhanced Boehm B Flat Clarinet
A superb condition Leblanc Paris clarinet, which was Leblanc's top of the range model of the 1950/60s. This instrument features a dedicated Bb hole and register key hole, i.e. a split function register key. This allows for both holes to be correctly positioned & the combined result in an excellent throat Bb, and a superbly responding, and in tune, 2nd register, as the need to compromise on tone hole position is scrapped. Such a pity that Buffet only offer this mechanism on their Basset clarinet in A, and no other contemporary mainstream manufacturer does. If there is one innovation that all soprano clarinets would benefit from, it is this. In addition this clarinet has a compensating pad on the bottom joint to correct the forked low G/D response. Yet the player is completely oblivious to all this clever acoustic work, as the fingering is identical to a standard clarinet. The instrument has had a full re-pad in Pisoni Premium Deluxe fish skin pads and is sold with our full 1 year warranty. This Bb has matching serial nos. O5697, these serial numbers indicate that the clarinet was made in the late 1950s or early 1960s, as online serial number lists for Leblanc are unreliable. The key work is in German Silver , and is in pristine condition. The wood likewise is in superb condition throughout, unstained Grenadilla, it is without blemish. The m'piece is a Selmer, in good condition. The case is the original in good used condition. This instrument represents outstanding value for money and plays evenly, and with excellent intonation across the range.
