Selmer Large-Bore Era Baritone Sax
This is a Selmer Large-Bore Era Baritone Saxophone with serial numbers 14076 dating to 1931, making it the model immediately before the Super Sax which started with serial numbers from approximately 15,000 onwards. It is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This instrument has had a long and hard life. There are several solder repairs, including a poor quality strut repair, see photo 14. There original lacquer shows much wear, there are also numerous dings and minor dents. The marks where a stand has been attached to the instrument can be clearly seen on the lacquer. This Baritone has been recently down to or workshop for a partial overhaul, and it now plays well. The invoice for this work will be included in the sale. The pads are a mixture of some new & mainly well used tan leather Gordon Beeson examples. The supplied case is an old Conn, which does latch and protects the Bari well. The supplied m'piece is a new Brancher, hard rubber model, with cap and ligature. This Bari is offered to the market at a bargain price.
