OUT ON APPROVALThis is a good condition Yamaha YCL221 Bass Clarinet in Resonite to low Eb, which has just been taken in part exchange by Clarinets Direct. The Yamaha Bass has one major advantage over its rivals: The 2 main joints come apart, and consequently the case is about the same size as an Alto Sax case.
There are no cracks or damage to the body, which is in excellent shape throughout. There is only very slight plating loss to the Nickel Silver key work, mainly on the ring finger touchpieces. The Bass has just had a complete tan leather re-pad throughout with reflectors on the lower joint, and is sold with our full 1 year warranty. The crook and the bell are both in pristine condition with no dents. There is a floor peg attachment to the bell, and also a sling. The serial nos. are 002671. The case is not original and is in poor condition, the next owner will probably want to replace it, however it does latch and protect the instrument. The Yamaha 6C m'piece plays very well with Vandoren 2.0 reeds, one is supplied. This instrument plays easily, and is an ideal first Bass clarinet purchase.
