Matched Pair of Rossi Mopane Wood English Bore Clarinets
An extremely fine pair of Rossi English bore clarinets in Mopane wood. These instruments were supplied new directly from Luis Rossi in 2019. The have had only one careful owner, Colin Parr, who is one of the UKs most distinguished exponents of the "English" wide bore school of clarinet playing.
The instruments have an additional RH touchpiece for low F, which improves low F intonation, and were a custom order for Luis Rossi. Both clarinets feature an English bore based on the pre-war 1010, but with much improved acoustics and intonation. The Mopane wood is in excellent condition throughout, with no cracks or damage, just minor surface marks associated with normal use. The silver plated keys are likewise in fine condition, with no wear. The clarinets have the original pads in excellent condition. The Bb has serial number E1360, and the A, E1361. The pair come with 6 different length barrels, 3 for the Bb of 66, 65, 64mm, & 3 for the A of 65.5 64, & 63mm, The case keys, are included, and Rossi Saluzzi large bore m'piece in excellent condition, as is the original case. [NB The clarinets were pictured before going through our workshop, and the tenon cork at the bottom of the Bb will be replaced.]
