Jerome Thibouville Lamy A Clarinet
This is a Jerome Thibouville Lamy A clarinet in Cocus wood. JTL were a fine French manufacturer, founded in 1833, and active until the 1950s. When they registered their trade name in the USA in 1926 they boasted a factory employing over 1000 employees. From the design of key work and inscription on the bell the instrument would appear to date from the 1920's. For a vintage A the wood is in very good condition, with only one tiny chip to the lower tenon of the upper joint, see photo 4, and a glued crack to the original barrel, see photo 5 [another Grenadilla wood barrel is also supplied]. The Maillechort key work shows very little wear, again for a vintage instrument it is in good condition. This A plays very well with modern French bore clarinet m'pieces. The clarinet has just had a complete overhaul in our workshop, and is sold with our full 1 year warranty . The case is a used Boosey & Hawkes double in good condition. This instrument would suit a player looking for a nice sounding A at a bargain price.
