Noblet, by Leblanc, Bass Clarinet
This is a good condition Noblet, Paris, Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, to low Eb, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The Nickel Silver plated key work is in fair condition with the usual "spot" wear to the ring finger touch pieces. The crook shows some "brassing" to the plating, and there are several dings and small dents to the bell. The wood does show surface marks and scratches, and there is a chip to the outer edge of he lowest tenon, see photo 4. The Bass has been professionally owned here in the UK, and the upper joint was overhauled by Howarth's in 2018, the invoice for this is included in the sale. Additionally the Bass has been through our workshop for a "check down" and regulation, it plays very well. The Bass has excellent condition tan leather pads on the upper joint, and whilst the lower joint pads are more used, all are sealing well. The matching serial nos. are 7761, which dates to the late 1970's. The original case is in poor condition, but just functional. The m'piece is a good condition Leblanc in ebonite.
