Leblanc, Spirit, C Clarinet
An excellent condition Leblanc Spirit Bb clarinet, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This instrument has been owned and played professionally by Nicholas Carpenter in many of the UKs orchestras, Nick is currently Principal Clarinet of the BBC Concert Orchestra. Leblanc were bought by Buffet in 2009, this is one of the last Spirit C manufactured. This clarinet is Leblanc's intermediate wooden model, which features a cylindrical bore design, it was described by Leblanc as being very responsive & having a full-bodied sound. It also features gold plated springs, in common with the professional models in the Leblanc range. This example has no damage or repairs to the wood, which is in excellent condition, apart from a small dent to the barrel, see photo 4. The Nickel Silver plate key work is in good condition. All pieces are original and have matching stamps. The instrument has used fish skin pads in good condition, sealing well. The matching serial nos. are D61384. The supplied m'piece is a Selmer C85 115. The case is the original in good condition.
