Buffet Clarinet in B Natural
An extremely rare Buffet Soprano Clarinet in the key of B Natural. These instruments are so rare that Clarinets Direct have handled only 4 in nearly 20 years of business. This one was formerly owned by a UK professional player and has been much used. The wood shows some surface scratches and scuffs, however there are no cracks or repairs. We have just completely overhauled the clarinet in finest Pisoni fish skin pads and the instrument is sold with our full 1 year warranty. The barrels are not original to the instrument, one is an English barrel measuring 57mm, the other is a custom Rossi measuring 61mm, with this the tuning is good at A=440 Hz with standard French bore m'pieces. The serial numbers are obscure but from the style of key work, and the fact that there is no counter sinking to the C#/G# hole the clarinet would appear to date from the 1st ten years of the 20th Century. This would match the style of German Silver keywork. There is a serial number on the bell, 6232. The case is a modern Buffet example with key. This instrument is perfectly usable but could also perhaps appeal to a collector.
