Buffet, Prestige, Bass Clarinet to low C
A near mint condition Buffet R13 Prestige Bass clarinet to low C. The original and sole owner was an extremely successful top London professional, who had one of the largest collections of clarinets & saxophones in the business. This was one of 4 top professional Bass clarinets he owned. The reason it is described as "near mint" is slight wear to the tenon corks, and a tiny patch of plating discolouration to the bell rim, see photo 12.
This Bass can only have been played on a handful of occasions. The original white leather pads are in perfect condition, as is the silver plated key work which is superb throughout. The wood is also excellent throughout with NO damage, scuffs or repairs of any sort. Low C# and C are played using the rear RH thumb keys. Low D is fingered with both left and right "pinky" keys. The matching serial numbers are H42187. The supplied m'piece is a Grabner on a Zinner blank in good used condition, it has an open and long lay, playing well with 2.5 reeds. A new metal cap & ligature are also supplied. The original case shows only slight signs of use, with the key still wrapped, in addition to the original peg, an excellent quality sling is provided.
