Thibouville Lamy B Flat Clarinet
This is a Thibouville Lamy Bb clarinet in Grenadilla wood, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. Thibouville were a respected French family of manufacturers with an extremely complex history. The family were active in Ivry-la-Bataille from at least the 17th Century to the mid 19th Century. From the design of key work and inscription on the bell the instrument would appear to date from the 1930's. The former owner is a professional player, who is also a repairer, and he has just re-padded this instrument entirely in fish skin pads. There are no cracks or repairs to the wood, which is in excellent condition throughout. The clarinet is stamped made for "L'Armee". The Maillechort key work shows only slight wear, for a vintage instrument is in good condition. The m'piece is a used student model in good condition. The case is a new modern example with shoulder carry strap. This instrument would suit a player looking for a nice sounding wooden quality French made clarinet at a bargain price
