Selmer, Series 9, B Flat Clarinet
An very good condition Selmer Series 9 Bb Clarinet , which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The sole former owner was the well known British Jazz player Duncan Lamont Snr. The 9* was marketed by Selmer as "pour la musique symphonique", the 9 was "pour le jazz et les varietes." The Silver plated keywork is in very good condition with very little plating loss. The Grenadilla wood is in very good condition for an instrument of this vintage, with no cracks or damage, apart from the barrel which has a couple of internal cracks, the worst of which is shown in photo 4 . The clarinet has just had a full overhaul with fish skin pads in our workshop and is sold with our 1 year year warranty. It measures 15.25mm at the top of the reverse cone of the upper joint, making it the largest bore Selmer clarinet made. The matching serial numbers are B2526, dating to 1980, which makes this example one of the very last made. The case is a BAM in excellent condition.
