Yamaha CSG III B Flat Clarinet
A very good condition Yamaha CSG CUSTOM III Bb clarinet, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This instrument has had only one professional adult owner from new, who used this instrument in London's West End. He is primarily a Flautist & this clarinet was used for doubling. Yamaha made great claims for the CSG range; a new bore design is supposed to provide great tonal richness, as found in older instruments made from properly aged Grenadilla. Certainly the final incarnation of the CSG, the CSG III, has been a great success with many players.
The wood is finest unstained Grenadilla, in mint condition, no cracks or damage. The Bb has matching serial nos. 01484. The bore design features a reverse taper to the barrel. Unlike Buffet polycylindrical bore designs, the instrument features a taper also at the top of the upper joint. The bore at the middle of the instrument, however, is similar to the Buffet Bb R13/RC. The silver plated key work is in good order throughout. The pads are mainly finest white leather, in good condition, with some cork pads also in the upper joint. The clarinet had a partial service in 2018, and the Invoice for this work is included with the sale. The clarinet comes with 2 original barrels, a standard of 56mm and a short of 55mm. The m'piece is a Vandoren B40 13 Lyre in used condition. The original case is a used black leather Yamaha in very good condition, with cover.
