Simple System Plateau B Flat Clarinet
An anonymous simple system plateau Bb clarinet which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The last owner is the well known musician, Paul Harvey. Paul was for many years Professor of Clarinet and Saxophone at the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall, in Twickenham. He was also the author of the "Saxophone" in Yehudi Menuhin series of music guides.
The-is ebonite clarinet plays evenly and well across all the registers at A= 440Hz. It has used fish skin pads, but all are sealing fine. There are some thread repairs to the tenon corks. The supplied m'piece is provided for play testing only, it is a Selmer C85 115. This instrument would suit a jazz player or a player who wanted to familiarise themselves with the simple system but needed a plateau, i.e. covered hole mechanism. The supplied gig bag is well used but functional.
