HsiShu B Flat Clarinet
A student Chinese made Bb clarinet in ebonite. It was formerly owned by the well known musician, Paul Harvey. Paul was for many years Professor of Clarinet and Saxophone at the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall, in Twickenham. He was also the author of the "Saxophone" in Yehudi Menuhin series of music guides. He bought this instrument for a student to use.
The instrument has matching serial numbers J3958. It has used fish skin pads, it does play, but has tenon cork wear, thread has been used to make sure the clarinet still assembles. It is sold "as is" for spares or repair, though it could suit a beginner as a cheap starter clarinet. The case is functional but in poor condition, the m'piece plays well.
