C Melody, Soprano Saxophone
A rare, anonymous, C Melody Soprano Saxophone which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This Saxophone's last but one owner was the well known musician, Paul Harvey. Paul was for many years Professor of Clarinet and Saxophone at the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall, in Twickenham. He was also the author of the "Saxophone" in Yehudi Menuhin series of music guides. The last owner has commissioned 2 custom made C Melody Soprano mouthpieces by Ed Pillinger; one in Bronzite, the other in Ed's own ebonite compound. Both are included in the sale, and have a tip opening of 120. This Sax has silver plate finish with wear throughout: Please select & hover over the photos and examine them in close up. The pads are all used tan leather, but sealing well. It also comes with a Hawkes m'piece, & in a well used case. This instrument would suit a player wishing to play oboe parts at sight without transposing, or read from a piano score.
