Selmer, SA80, Soprano Saxophone
An excellent condition Selmer SA80 Soprano Saxophone, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The last & sole owner is the well known musician, Paul Harvey. Paul was for many years Professor of Clarinet and Saxophone at the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall, in Twickenham. He was also the author of the "Saxophone" in Yehudi Menuhin series of music guides.
This SA80 Series 1 was selected from the Selmer factory in Paris, by Paul from many examples in 1982. It features a warmer & fatter sound than the later Series II or III horns, and arguably better intonation than the Mark VI. This example, S/N N333769, has original lacquer with only very slight wear: Please select & hover over the photos and examine them in close up. The pads are all used tan leather, but in very good condition & sealing well. It comes with a Selmer C m'piece, & in a robust Yamaha case with keys in good used condition.
