Boosey & Hawkes Symphony 1010 A Clarinet
Clarinets Direct is fortunate to count many of the UKs finest players amongst our clientele, one such is Colin Parr who is one of the UKs most distinguished exponents of the "English" wide bore school of clarinet playing. This is an extremely fine B&H Symphony 1010 A which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct having last been owned by Colin who was for many years Principal Clarinet of the CBSO. This A, S/N 411605, has tan leather pads throughout in good order, it features the later Acton vent. The silver plate is in fine condition & there are no cracks or damage to the wood, apart from a slight chip to the receiver tenon of the bell, see photo 4. This has absolutely no affect on the response and is completely hidden when the instrument is assembled. All pieces are matching and stamped " Boosey & Hawkes". The supplied mouthpiece is a much used B&H 1010 No.2 & the case is an older Bauhaus Walstein with some tape repairs to the handle and exterior. It still latches and protects the clarinet well.
