Selmer, SA80, Soprano Saxophone
A good condition Series 1 Selmer SA 80 Soprano Sax. This instrument has had only one professional owner, the late Allan Ryder, and it has been carefully used. Many players feel that of Selmer sopranos, the one with the best and most durable build quality is the Series 1 SA80. It features a warmer & fatter sound than the later Series II or III horns, and arguably better intonation than the Mark VI. You get a fairly dark, complex, round tone with some complexity to it, and that is desirable on soprano. This example, S/N N347392, which was made in the mid 1980s, has original lacquer with normal wear: Please select & hover over the photos and examine them in close up. The pads are all used tan leather, but sealing well. It comes with a Selmer D m'piece, & in the original case both are in good used condition. A sling and some reeds are also included along with a K&M stand.
