Boosey & Hawkes 926 Imperial B Flat Clarinet
This Imperial 926 Bb Clarinet is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct, having been part of a collection of instruments owned by the late Allan Ryder. The instrument has has much use but is in good condition for its age. The Imperial 926 was manufactured as a professional quality instrument on a par with the Imperial Symphony 1010, but with a bore of 15.0mm, as opposed to the 15.25mm of the 1010.
This Bb, with matching serial nos. 339111, dating to 1970, has no cracks or repairs. The silver plate throughout is in good shape, with minor wear and pitting to some of the keys on the lower joint. The tan leather pads are used, but still sealing well. The supplied m'piece is a Peter Eaton London, which has some discolouration to the ebonite, is is open and moderately long, and plays well with a Vandoren 2.5 reed. The case is an Orly, which is again in good used condition, with some stains to the interior.
