Matched Pair of Boosey & Hawkes 1010 Clarinets
A pair of B&H Symphony 1010's which are a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. Their sole former owner was a musician in the Army. This pair are pre-Acton patent vent models & date to 1961. The Bb, with matching serial nos. 182910, has Silver plate throughout in fair condition, there is wear to the ring finger touch pieces, as well as the "pinky" keys. There is also an old stable crack repair to the upper joint. The crack occurred soon after purchase and has been pinned, filled and sealed. The Bb was then used professionally for a further 40 years. The pads are all tan leather, of which the majority are new, or in good used condition, as the clarinet has been down to our workshop for a partial overhaul, with pads & corks replaced as necessary and the key work regulated.
The A, matching serial nos. 190142, has used tan leather pads in good condition. The silver plate throughout is in good shape. The wood is crack and repair free. There are 3 barrels of 64.5, 64 & 61 mm. The 2 supplied m'pieces are both original B&H 1010 No.2. The case is in fair used condition, with tears and stains to the interior lining, the latches still function, and a dust cover is supplied.
