Buffet Clarinet in B
An extremely rare Buffet Soprano Clarinet in the key of B Natural. These instruments are so rare that Clarinets Direct have handled only 3 in nearly 20 years of business. This one was formerly owned by a Welsh professional player and has been much used. The wood shows some deep surface scratches and scuffs, the worst of which is in the area of the pillars for the wrap around register key. However there are no cracks or repairs. We have just completely overhauled the clarinet in finest Pisoni fish skin pads and the instrument is sold with our full 1 year warranty. The barrel is not original to the instrument, it is a cut down barrel from a later Buffet, measuring 60mm. The tuning is excellent at A=440 Hz with the supplied Pillinger F2 m'piece, which does extend some 2 mm from the receiver tenon of the barrel when assembled. The serial number is very hard to decipher, it could be I49, which would date to 1894. This would match the style of German Silver keywork. The case is a relined modern Buffet example with key. This instrument is perfectly usable but could also perhaps appeal to a collector
