Clemens Wurlitzer, B Flat Clarinet
This is a rare Clemens Wurlitzer Bb Full Boehm clarinet, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. Clemens was established as a clarinet maker based in Wernitzgrun in Germany in 1920. This instrument features; fork Eb/Bb, LH Ab/Eb, articulated C#/G# & low Eb key and is of small bore type, at 14.65m. It tunes well with French bore m'pieces, i.e. Vandoren. The build quality is very fine, with raised tone hole edges on the lower joint, much like a contemporary top of the range Selmer clarinet. The wood shows no cracks or damage, and the silver plate key work is pristine. The clarinet has, as new, tan leather pads throughout. The m'piece is unstamped, but could be original. The matching serial numbers are 12773, but those on the lower joint are very hard to read. The case is a modern Ortola with carry strap.
