Noblet, by Leblanc, Bass Clarinet
This is a fine condition Noblet, Paris, Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, to low Eb, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The Nickel Silver plated key work is in good condition with only some "spot" wear to the ring finger touch pieces. This Bass was formerly owned by a school, as additional security numbers have been scratched into the wood, though the last owner was an amateur who has now up-graded to a low C Bass. The wood does show surface marks and scratches, and there may be a crack repair to the register key area, see photo 13. There is no crack through to the bore, and despite careful examination and photographing, there is no observable crack. It could be, therefore, that these marks are just surface scuffs. The bell and crook both show some minor dings and scratches. The Bass has excellent condition tan leather pads throughout, and is in fine regulation. There is no joint wobble. There is a floor peg attachment to the bell and floor spike. The matching serial nos. are 5506, which dates to the 1970's. The original case is in good condition. The m'piece is a good condition student model.
