Buffet, R13 B Flat Clarinet
A very good condition Buffet R13 Bb clarinet, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct.
This example was selected new from many others by a then student at Chetham's School of Music in Manchester. This does go to show that if a discerning player is prepared to invest the time and effort in making a careful choice, from many examples of modern Buffet R13s, it is possible to find an outstanding example. This clarinet demonstrates a very fine warm sound, and, unusually for an R13, a remarkably well tuned 3rd register. There is no discernible wear to the Silver plating, which is in very good order throughout The wood shows no cracks or damage, apart from minor surface scuffs, and all pieces are original and matching with Buffet stamps. The instrument has been down to our workshop for regulation, and touch corks as necessary. The has Eddie Ashton fitted superpads throughout, and this overhaul was done some 5 years ago, the pads are approximately 1/2 way through their life span. The matching serial numbers are 609640, which dates to the late 2000s. The original case is in good condition. The m'piece is an up-grade to a Vandoren B45 Lyre in good used condition.
