Selmer, Paris, Alto Clarinet
This is a near mint condition Selmer Paris Alto clarinet to low Eb, just taken in part exchange. The only reason that it cannot be described as mint, is a tiny nick to the plating on the crook, see photo 5. The Nickel Silver key work is in pristine condition with no wear. The sleeved, adjustable, crook is in excellent condition, as is the bell. The wood is in perfect condition, with no cracks, repairs, or any other damage. The last owner was an amateur who bought this instrument in 2014 for £4700, and this invoice will be included in the sale. The Alto has tan leather pads throughout in excellent condition. This is a superb alto; Selmer is generally held to be the finest manufacturer in the world. The matching serial nos. are A4791 which dates to 1979. The case is a modern example with rucksack type carry straps as well as handles, and multiple pouches, it is of excellent design. The m'piece is a used Vandoren B40. A selection of new reeds is included as well as a sling. The current list price for this Mark 4 Selmer Alto is £8389.
