Orsi, C Clarinet
A rare Romeo Orsi C clarinet. Orsi are one of the most respected and oldest of the Italian manufacturers of clarinets. Originally founded in 1880 in Milan, the firm was then subsequently run by further generations of Orsi's; Lorenzo, Roberto and Prof. Romeo. Both Patricola, who now manufactures clarinets in Milan, and Bulgheroni trained with the firm.
This is a professional model "Classic" Grenadilla wood C clarinet, and it plays with a well rounded tone [an Italian Bel Canto], very warm for a C, and with excellent intonation. The "Classic" was Prof. Romeo Orsi's top of the range professional model, and this instrument features an additional LH Ab/Eb lever. The instrument is in very good condition, with no cracks or damage to the unstained Grenadilla wood, & the matching serial nos. are 3021. The Nickel Silver key work and plating are in excellent condition, with no wear. The instrument has been down to our workshop for a complete overhaul in Pisoni fish skin pads and is sold with 1 year warranty. The m'piece is a GS Solist No. 4 in ebonite. The original case is in good condition. This C would suit a professional on a budget, or any player looking for a fine C at a bargain price.
