Boosey & Hawkes, London & Paris, 1010 A Clarinet
This very fine Boosey & Hawkes London & Paris pre-war A clarinet is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The London & Paris 1010 model, as the name suggests, was made for B&H in France. The current owner has taken very good care of this clarinet, it has been well maintained. The touch corks and key work are in good regulation. The pads are all tan leather in excellent condition. This A, with matching serial nos. 1203, has wood with no cracks or repairs. The lower tenon of the upper joint has been sleeved in metal, presumably due to natural wear. The German Silver keywork throughout is in good shape. All pieces are original, excepting the m'piece, which is a Vandoren B40 which has been reamed out to 1010 bore, in very good used condition. The barrel is in ebonite, and indeed it is usual to find L&P clarinets with ebonite barrels, and, or bells. The case is a Leblanc double, in good used condition.
