London & Paris Boosey & Hawkes 1010 B Flat Clarinet
This is a fair condition Boosey & Hawkes London & Paris pre-war Bb clarinet which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The London & Paris 1010 model, as the name suggests, was made for B&H in France. The last owner of this clarinet is a well known British Jazz player. This instrument has seen much heavy use, and shows wear throughout. The silver plated key work shows wear both on the rings and touch pieces, it is likely that the plating is not original to the clarinet. The pads are all tan leather in very good condition. This Bb, has worn original serial numbers on all pieces, and it is likely that they do not match. The S/N on the bell is possibly 1660. There has been another serial number etched into the wood of the lower joint, 36851. There is an old crack repair to the bottom of the upper joint, which has been pinned. The original thumb rest has been replaced, and the original mounting space and screw holes have been left unfilled. The m'piece is an Anton Weinberg on a Babbitt blank of the correct bore. It is usual to find L&P clarinets with ebonite barrels, and, or bells, which this clarinet has. The case is in good used condition.
