Leblanc Bass Clarinet
This is a very fine condition Leblanc, Paris, Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, model 400, to low Eb, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The instrument has been professionally owned and extremely well maintained, even the metal stops to protect the receiver tenon of the upper joint are still present . This model sits above the Noblet Bass in the Leblanc line up, and was described by them as an entry level professional model. All the Nickel Silver key work is in excellent condition, with no wear. The instrument, which has matching serial numbers 7597, probably dates to the 1970s. The wood is in very good condition for a Bass of this age, with only slight scuffs to the wood surface, the worst of which is pictured. The wood shows no cracks or repairs, it is in very fine condition. The bell and crook are both in excellent condition with no dents, only light scratches to the plating. The Bass has tan leather pads throughout, which are all in good shape. The Bass comes with both a floor peg, and also a sling hook attachment, with a sling provided. The case is in excellent condition also. The m'piece is a used Vandoren B44, in good condition. A comparable new Bass today would cost in excess of £5000.
