Selmer, Balanced Tone, B Flat Clarinet
A good condition Selmer Balanced Tone Bb clarinet. This instrument is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct, having been last owned and played by Adrian Cox, one of Britain's leading Jazz players. The Balanced Tone clarinet was introduced by Selmer in the mid 1930s, as a wide bore Jazz model. The pads are all new, as the instrument has just been completely overhauled in fish skin pads. The German Silver keywork is in good condition but shows a natural patina commensurate with the age of the clarinet. The matching serial numbers are N3996 which date this clarinet to 1948. The wood shows some surface marks and scratches, but there are no cracks or repairs. The case has some interior lining wear, but latches securely. The m'piece is a good condition Selmer C.
