Kohlert Prague, A Clarinet
A nice condition Kohlert, Prague, A clarinet, in Grenadilla wood. This instrument was formerly owned by the Purcell School in London, and is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The pads are a mixture of tan leather and skin, and whilst being used are all sealing well. The instrument has been down to our workshop for a partial overhaul, with tenon and touch corks replaced. In addition a crack to the bell has been sealed. Apart from this the wood is in good condition. The keywork, which is in Maillechort or German Silver, shows no wear, just a natural cloudiness due to the age of the clarinet, it is likely that the instrument dates to the 1950s. Despite the Kohlert stamp, it was actually made in Italy. The matching serial numbers are 4773. The m'piece is a new old stock B&H of 1010 bore, which tunes this A clarinet well. The case is in good condition.
This instrument is exceptional value for money and would suit a player looking for an A for orchestral use.
