Howarth 1010 Clarinet Mouthpiece
A brand new "old stock" G Howarth 1010 No.1 clarinet mouthpiece. To quote from an original 1924 Hawkes & Son brochure on clarinet mouthpieces: " the wonderful lay [and finish] given to each of them by Mr Howarth, our resident expert, who may be considered to know "all about every mouthpiece ever made" places the new H & S mouthpieces above all competition."
G Howarth eventually founded the eponymous London shop, and gained an international reputation for superb quality m'pieces: Benny Goodman was one customer.
These hand crafted ebonite 1010 bore m'pieces play very well and have come from the stock of a now closed London dealer. The tip opening is close, and the lay moderately long. The quality of sound, workmanship and tuning are excellent. The m'piece is compatible with B&H 1010 clarinets, & Luis Rossi English bore clarinets.
