Amati, 354S, C Clarinet
This is an Amati 354S C Clarinet, in very good condition, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The instrument has been professionally owned here in the UK. This clarinet was made in Czech Republic and is made from Grenadilla wood, unlike the cheaper models in the range. The bore is 14.60mm, which is large for a C clarinet, in fact this is the same size bore as Selmer, Paris, C clarinets. The tuning is excellent with standard French bore mouthpieces, in this regard the instrument is a major advance on older Amati instruments. This model also features a bell vent for the low E/B twelfth tuning. The instrument has mainly used fish skin pads, in good condition, though there are 2 super-pads on the lower joint. The Silver plate is in very good order throughout. The original register key touchpiece has been customised, though a brand new original shape register key is included, should the new owner wish to switch back. The matching serial nos. are 231989. The case is an Ortola, which is in good condition, except that both zip pulls have been replaced. This clarinet would suit a player looking for a bargain priced C for occasional use, or a young beginner, with smaller hands, not quite ready for a standard Bb.
