Chas. Foote REF Tenor Saxophone
This is a Chas. E Foote. REF tenor saxophone which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. It is highly likely that this instrument was a stencil, made in France, for the noted London music shop in Golden Square. This was common practice in the 1930's, and the instrument may well date back to then. There are two serial numbers, the "Foote" serial number is 4344, but there is also the French factory serial, 9590, which is stamped by "Made in France". The instrument shows much lacquer wear, but plays well. There are minor surface dings, and evidence of old solder repairs, see photos. All pads are tan leather in excellent condition. The m'piece is a used Yamaha 4C in good condition. The case, a soft gig bag, by "Chord" is also in good condition. This is an excellent price for such a well made French saxophone in good playing condition.
