Selmer, Recital, B Flat Clarinet
This is a fair condition Selmer, Paris, Recital Bb Clarinet, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This instrument has been professionally owned and played here in the UK. Selmer Recital clarinets are undoubtedly among the best designed French instruments worldwide. The upper joint features a large reversed cone which narrows to 14.4mm. This results in exceptionally accurate twelfths, and overall the intonation is superior to most other French designed instruments today.
The wood shows some scuffs and surface marks, and there is a pinned, repaired, crack to the upper joint, this runs from the top tenon down towards the upper trill key holes, the usual place for cracks. The instrument was played professionally by a Manchester based Jazz musician after the repair for many years. The matching serial numbers are C6306, which dates to the early 1980s. All Silver plate is in good order, with most wear to the tenon rings. The clarinet has just had a full and complete overhaul in Pisoni tan leather at our workshop. It is sold with our 1 year warranty. The original barrel measure 64.5 mm. The supplied case is in good used condition.
