Buffet, Evette, Bass Clarinet
This is an Evette, Buffet, Bass clarinet to low Eb in ebonite. The instrument was Buffet's student model with a range to low Eb, and this Bass is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct, as the owner has just traded up to a wooden low C Bass. There are no cracks or damage to the body. The crook is in good condition with only light scratches and slight cloudiness to the plating. The bell has some flattening to the bottom, as well as a few minor dings. It is likely that this Bass was formerly owned by a school, as etched into the bell is " Whitehall Jr. Band". Overall the Nickel Silver plating is in fair condition, with wear to the ring finger touch-pieces and also the E/B LH lever, as well as the throat G# key. The Bass has a floor peg attachment, and a sling hook. The serial nos. are C676. The majority of the pads are tan leather which are well used, but sealing. One pad was replaced in our workshop, and the Bass has been completely stripped down and regulated. The mouthpiece is a George Bundy No. 3, in good used condition, as is the original case . This would be an ideal purchase as a first Bass, or for a professional doubler on a budget.
