SOLD Leblanc LL Plateau B flat Clarinet
SOLDThis is a rare, very good condition Leblanc LL , Paris France, Plateau B flat clarinet, 1176PS. This is a top of the range professional model made from aged Grenadilla wood, with a covered hole mechanism, i.e. plateau.
There are no cracks or repairs to the wood, which is in good condition, but there are some minor chips to the wood at the outside diameter of the bottom tenon of the upper joint. All the key work, which is plated in Silver, is in perfect condition. The clarinet has just been completely re-padded in fish skin pads by Clarinets Direct, and is sold with our full warranty. The matching serial nos. are 63869, which makes this a late example. The Stagg case is in excellent condition. The mouthpiece is a used Vandoren B45 in good condition. This clarinet continued to be manufactured by Leblanc right up until they ceased manufacture in 2009, though we understand it was usually a special order instrument. It was described by them as "specifically designed for the younger player, doubler or even the arthritic player who may have difficulty covering the standard open-tone-hole". The response and intonation of this instrument make this one of the finest plateau clarinets manufactured. The key work design is also superior to most other plateau mechanisms, with adjusting screws for most ring finger tone holes.
