Hammerschmidt, Klingson, B Flat Clarinet
Hammerschmidt is one of the iconic clarinet makers of the 20th Century. Austria had perhaps no finer maker, and only the Wurlitzer clan of Germany can lay claim to being comparable, or superior, depending on your preference for Viennese or German styles of playing. These days, Karl's nephew, Frank, carries on the family tradition of hand crafted excellence in clarinet making.
This is a superb handmade clarinet in Grenadilla wood, stamped "Klingson", which was selected new in Vienna for a young student to start clarinet lessons by his teacher. It is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. If you are looking for something approaching the "authentic Viennese sound", given that this is a Boehm system clarinet, then perhaps this is the clarinet for you.
This instrument is in good condition: NO cracks, marks or damage, and nice silver plated key work throughout. We have just completely overhauled in Pisoni finest skin pads. This instrument is sold with our full 1 year warranty, and 3 month buy back scheme, unique to Clarinets Direct. The clarinet has matching serial numbers 949609, and model number OH -460. It comes with two barrels, of 63mm and 65mm. The original leather case is in good used condition, and comes with the key. The m'piece is a used Vandoren B40.
