Selmer, Paris, Bass Clarinet to low C
This is a superb condition Selmer Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, to low C, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The Selmer Paris Bass is considered the finest in the World due to its excellent ergonomics, fine tuning, and automatic double over-blowing vent for the second register. This Bass is the later Selmer model 33, known as the Mark 2. This instrument has an impressive provenance having been formerly owned, from new, by Paul Harvey. Paul is well known as the author of many books on the clarinet, as well as the Yehudi Menuhin Guide to the Saxophone. Paul had a very successful career and this instrument is a veteran of many recording sessions, including film sound tracks as a member of the National Philharmonic Orchestra. Paul was also Clarinet and Saxophone Professor at the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall.
All Silver plated key work is in good condition. There are no cracks or damage to the wood which is pristine throughout. The bell and crook are both in very good condition, with no dents, dings, scratches or other marks. The crook is sleeved and adjustable for tuning. This Bass has tan leather pads throughout, which are in excellent condition. The instrument has been down to our workshop for an overhaul, and regulation, and is sold with our full 1 year warranty. There is no joint wobble and there is a floor peg, which has been grooved for stability. The matching serial nos. are C3401 which dates to 1983. The Selmer case is in good used condition. The Bass comes with a C85 Selmer m'piece in used condition, and also a Bass stand [not pictured].
