This is an ultra rare Buffet Piccolo Ab clarinet, so rare in fact that this is the only example, apart from an early Buffet Ab in the Shackleton collection, that we have ever seen. The instrument is pitched a minor 7th above the usual Bb clarinet. It is highly likely that it was a custom order from Buffet. The clarinet is in excellent condition throughout. The wood has no cracks or damage and the Silver plating is pristine. The pads are all used fish skin but in fine order. The m'piece is a Vandoren, with a tip opening of 0.85mm, again this is in good used condition. The serial numbers are 50354B, which dates to 1955. The original case is also in very good condition.
