Leblanc LL Bass Clarinet to low E Flat
This is an extremely rare top of the range G Leblanc, Paris, LL Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, to low Eb, later designated model 325S. This model features a fork Ab/Eb in the RH which neatly does away with the necessity for another key for the LH little finger. The LL models demonstrate excellent evenness and intonation throughout the entire range. This Bass has been professionally owned and played here in the UK, the current owner has just traded up to a low C Selmer Bass.
The instrument has been extremely well maintained. The Grenadilla wood does show slight scuffs and marks associated with normal use. In addition there is an old tenon repair to the bottom of the lower joint. This repair pre-dates the period of ownership of the last owner, and he has used the Bass professionally for over a decade with no issues. The Nickel Silver plated key work shows some spot wear mainly to the ring finger touch pieces. The crook is in good condition, as is the bell, which has only slight scratches. There is a floor peg attachment. The instrument has finest Pisoni Tan Leather pads throughout which are all in excellent used condition. The matching serial nos. are 11905, which probably dates to the 1970's, online Leblanc serial number lists are unreliable. The supplied mouthpiece is a Selmer D in good condition. The instrument comes in an "as new" BAM case.
