Selmer, Series 9*, B Flat Clarinet
This Selmer Series 9* Bb clarinet is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This instrument has belonged to a professional UK based player. The 9* was marketed by Selmer as "pour la musique symphonique", the 9 was "pour le jazz et les varietes." In other words the slightly smaller bore Series 9*, with undercutting, was aimed at the classical market, the wide bore Series 9 at the Jazz market. The clarinet has serial nos., T7204 which dates to 1963. The Nickel Silver plating is in excellent order throughout, with no wear. The pads are all brand new Pisoni fish skin as we have just fully overhauled this clarinet in our workshop and it is sold with our full 1 year warranty. There are no cracks or repairs to the Grenadilla wood, which is excellent throughout. The supplied case is the original in fair condition. NB The pictured m'piece, a Brillhart No.3, is for sale for an additional £100, this Bb is supplied with a new old stock Selmer HS m'piece, included in the asking price of £845.00. Also included is an upgrade to a Luis Rossi barrel, the original barrel having been shortened to 58.5mm.
