Matched Pair of Boosey & Hawkes Pre-war 1010 Clarinets
This is a matched pair of Boosey & Hawkes, pre-war 1010 clarinets, in excellent condition. Their current owner is an amateur with a large collection of English wide bore clarinets, his instruments are always well cared for and presented.
The Bb has silver plated key work in pristine condition. The instrument is in wood throughout, which is in superb condition. The matching serial nos. on all main pieces, are 32260, which dates to 1936. All pads are tan leather Pisoni, in very good condition. There is no joint wobble or play in the mechanism. The lower tenon of the barrel has had some metal tape added to make a tight fit with the upper joint, see photo 4. The A, serial nos. 32266, also dates to 1936. Again every single piece is matching and serial numbered. The wood is in very good condition, with few surface marks. The silver plate is also very fine throughout. The case is an Orly in good condition, and the m'piece is a more recent B&H No. 2. In summation: This is probably one of the finest pair of Boosey & Hawkes pre-War 1010's currently available.
