Leblanc, LL, B Flat Clarinet
This a good condition Leblanc LL Bb clarinet, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The Leblanc LL, was named after Leon Leblanc, George's son and was Leblanc's foremost professional model. The design features an exceptionally even scale and intonation, and, though introduced in the 1960s, was so successful that the model continued in manufacture right up until when the firm was sold to Buffet in 2009.
This Bb clarinet has matching serial nos. 32283, which likely dates to the 1960s, and in addition a further security number has been scratched into all the pieces, S-15605. This clarinet may well have belonged to an institution in the past. The German Silver keywork is in fair condition, with no wear but surface tarnish, see photos. The wood is in very good condition, with no cracks or repairs. The rear thumb rest has been replaced with a Buffet adjustable type, and the old screw holes have been filled. The instrument has excellent condition tan leather pads, which are all sealing well. The supplied m'piece is the original Leblanc in good condition, as is the case.
