Selmer, Paris. Mark VI Alto Saxophone
A Selmer Mk VI Alto saxophone, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct, and has been last owned by a one of the London's foremost musicians. The Alto is in good condition. The original lacquer shows wear commensurate with much use, this instrument was one of 4 owned by the aforementioned top session and big band player, and was his preferred Mark VI. This instrument has just been through our workshop for a minor service, and has been stripped down, regulated, and touch corks replaced as necessary, it plays well. The pads are used tan leather, but all sealing. The serial numbers are 194391, which dates to early 1972.
This is a superb example of a Selmer Mark VI Alto. It responds particularly well in lower dynamics and to subtleties of articulation. It demonstrates a classic Mark VI sound and tone quality in all registers - very balanced and harmonious. The supplied case, is a Hiscox in used condition.
