Selmer, Paris, 9* B Flat Clarinet
This Selmer Series 9* Bb clarinet is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This instrument has belonged to a professional UK based player. The 9* was marketed by Selmer as "pour la musique symphonique", the 9 was "pour le jazz et les varietes." In other words the slightly smaller bore Series 9*, with undercutting, was aimed at the classical market, the wide bore Series 9 at the Jazz market. The clarinet has matching serial nos., T7386 which dates to 1963. The Nickel Silver plating is in good order throughout, with only slight wear. The pads are all used tan leather, and are in fine condition, and will be good for many months to come. There are no cracks or repairs to the Grenadilla wood, which is excellent throughout. The supplied case is in very good condition, as is the m'piece, which is an "as new" Leblanc Selmer C85 120 with Vandoren Optimum ligature & all 3 interchangeable plates.
